When you're buying a new appliance, there's one really important thing that you absolutely must do. Measure correctly. Because if you don't, the delivery truck shows up and it doesn't fit, you have to go back to the store to pick out a new one. Then you have to schedule a new delivery appointment, take more time off work. But don't worry. We're here to help you avoid all of that. So this is Carolyn, and we are going to walk you through the right way to measure. You ready? I'm ready. All right. First, we're going to measure the space. This is your old refrigerator, right? Right. Completely ignore it. OK. We always want to measure the space, and not the old appliance. We're going to take the height, the width, and the depth of the space. Measure in a couple different places. Things can vary from top to bottom. And just be precise. Even an eighth of an inch can make a big difference. OK. Next, you want to walk the delivery path. That's the route your appliance will take to get into your home. And what you're looking for is the narrowest point. A hallway, a corner, doorway. And when you find it, be sure to write that down too. Now, double check the dimensions of your new appliance to make sure it will fit through your home and into its new space. Now, a couple of things to keep in mind here. Some appliances, like refrigerators, like a little room to breathe. So factor that in when you double check things. Also, be sure to account for hinges and handles. Think about how doors open and allow for enough clearance so that they won't hit anything. Look, if you find any issues when you measure, just be sure to call us before we show up. Now, one last thing, you'll want to prep your home for delivery. Make sure there's a parking space for the delivery truck, clear any items out of your delivery pathway ahead of time, and if you have any pets, just make sure they're secure. And that's how measuring now can help you avoid delivery headaches later. Remember, if you have any questions, just talk to us. That's why we're here.
