- Hi, I'm Justin, a Home Expert from Best Buy. And today we're going to look at Lively on Alexa. I'll tell you about it, and some of the ways it can be used. As we age, we want to continue to live independently on our own terms, but that can be challenging. Sometimes you might need a little extra support when it comes to things like health and safety concerns. We can use technology to help with this, and Lively on Alexa is a great way to do that. That's because, through your Amazon Alexa devices, you can access something called Lively Urgent Response. Lively Urgent Response is a subscription-based service that connects you to a team of professionals who can help in a variety of situations, including emergencies. They gather info on your location, the situation, and make sure you get the help you need. Even more helpful, Amazon Echo devices can also be used to reach the Lively Urgent Response team by simply using your voice. What makes this great is you can place multiple Echo devices around your home, to have quick access to Lively throughout your space. For example, maybe you're in the living room, and you start to feel chest pain. The nearby Echo Dot can connect you to an Urgent Response agent to help. Just say, "Alexa, call for help." Maybe you have an Echo Show 8 like this in your kitchen, and you start to feel dizzy. Or even if you're unsure if what you're experiencing is an emergency, help is just a voice command away. The Urgent Response agents are based in the US and certified by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch. So it's not just a call center. These agents are qualified, certified, and trained to help in all kinds of situations. Now, you might be wondering, "Why wouldn't I just call 911?" Well, the difference is simple. The Lively Response team can help in emergencies, big or small, from calling a locksmith to providing directions, or even dispatching emergency services, like an ambulance or the police. They have access to your Personal Emergency Profile, which contains helpful insights, like existing health conditions, medications being taken, allergies, and even contact info for loved ones or neighbors. For example, if you hurt your knee, that might be a task a neighbor or a loved one is willing to help with, opposed to dispatching an emergency service. However, if there is an emergency, the agent can use the info in your profile to act quickly and get help. For example, they'll know if you have a dog that might make entry difficult, or if there's a spare key outside, giving first responders faster access. Pretty cool. No matter the reason, big or small, Urgent Response agents are there to help you feel reassured and safe. The Lively Services skill in Amazon Alexa is compatible with many Amazon Echo devices, so you can choose the right combination for your home. And if you're not home, you can also get help on the go with the free Lively app for smartphones. You can install the Lively app on some Android or iOS smartphones, and use it in a similar way to connect to the Urgent Response team. Convenient, right? Hopefully, this video was helpful. If you're ready to get started visit a Blue Shirt in one of our stores, we'll be happy to help. Thanks for watching.
