Art Card: Pokémon Trading Card Game Logo and FAQ Series Trainer Logo
Narrator says: When building your strategy, Trainer cards are useful cards that help you to gain advantages in your game.
Trainer (Hop) card is brought to focus, the "Trainer" designation in the top left and the advantage in the bottom right "You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn" are highlighted.
Narrator continues saying: Trainer cards come in three varieties: Item, Supporter, and Stadium. Each has different advantages when you add them to your deck!
3 different Trainer card types are shown: Item (Great Ball), Supporter (Hop), and Stadium (Giant Hearth). Each of the cards advantages in the lower right corner are highlighted.
Narrator says: Item cards are the most basic type of Trainer card. You play them during your turn, and you may play as many Item cards as you like before you attack. When you play an Item card, follow the instructions on it and then put it in the discard pile face up.
2 cards are put away so only the Item type Trainer Card (Great Ball) is shown. A second Item type Trainer Card (Potion) is shown and the instruction section and advantage sections are highlighted. The Great Ball card is returned to the players hand and the Potion card is placed in the discard pile on the right side of the board face up.
Narrator continues: A Pokémon Tool card is a special kind of Item card. Instead of discarding it, you attach it to 1 of your Pokémon, where it provides that Pokémon with a special effect.
A Pokémon Tool Item card (Burning Scarf) is shown. The "Item" designation in the top right is highlighted as well as the "Special Effect" which is listed in the middle of the card, the card is then played on the board by place it sideways underneath the Pokémon Card in play (Charizard).
Narrator says: If the Pokémon is Knocked Out, any attached Pokémon Tool goes to the discard pile along with the Pokémon.
Opposing players cards are attacked by flame from player's Charizard cards, are knocked out and moved to the discard pile. Flame cut scene.
Narrator continues: Supporter cards tend to have very powerful effects, but you can play only 1 Supporter card per turn.
3 Supporter cards are shown on screen, Pokémon Center Lady, Professor's Research, and Sonia, all with the "Supporter" designation in the top right and the "Effects" in the bottom right highlighted. Cards are then returned to the player's hand.
Narrator continues: Finally, Stadium cards stay in play after you play them. Each Stadium affects both players, and only 1 Stadium can be in play at a time. During your turn you can play only 1 Stadium card, and only if it doesn’t have the same name as the current Stadium in play. If a new one comes into play, discard the old one and end its effects. Be sure to look out for some great Trainer cards to enhance your strategy.
A Stadium card (Glimwood Tangle) is brought to focus with the "Stadium" designation in the top right, the requirements in the bottom right, and the "Ability" in the center highlighted. The card is then moved to the center of the board where it is placed next to another Stadium card (Training Court). Names for both cards are highlighted to show they are different. The old card (Training Court), is then moved to the discard pile and the camera zooms out to the full board.
Camera zooms out and Art Card is displayed with Pokémon Trading Card Game Logo and FAQ Series Trainer Logo.
